A little guidance.
A calmer day.
Set up protection, make your routines fit, and find help when something feels wrong.
App blocking
How do I turn on protection?
- In Kingdom Focus, open Settings → App blocking setup.
- On iPhone or iPad, approve Screen Time access using Apple’s on-device authorization. On Android, follow the permission checks shown in the app, including accessibility access and permission to display the blocking screen.
- Open Allowed apps and save the apps you want available during focus. On Apple devices, explicitly select JW Library in Apple’s picker. Android keeps JW Library available automatically.
- Start a short routine and check the protection status on its focus screen. Open an app outside your allowed list to confirm the blocking screen appears.
A running timer alone does not confirm that app blocking is active. Setup reports when a required permission is unavailable.
The timer is running, but other apps are accessible.
Return to Settings → App blocking setup and check each permission. Make sure the app you tested is outside your allowed list. A timer-only session does not block apps.
If setup says protection is ready but an unapproved app opens, please report the problem below. Tell us whether it happened after locking the phone, restarting it, switching apps, or returning to Kingdom Focus. Please include the app version and phone model. You do not need to send private reflections, credentials, or a Screen Time passcode.
The operating system retains access to essential system functions. Android accessibility permission can also be disabled by system actions such as force-stopping the app; reopen setup after such an action.
What does on-device Screen Time approval mean?
Apple displays its own authorization sheet on your iPhone or iPad. The device owner, or a parent or guardian when applicable, completes that approval. Kingdom Focus cannot enter or bypass a device or Screen Time passcode. Never send a passcode to support.
Once access is approved, you should not have to approve it each time you return to the app. If protection changes without a settings change, report it as a problem.
Can every app be blocked?
Kingdom Focus uses the controls that Apple and Android make available. Apps you allow remain accessible; essential system functions may also remain available. Android protection depends on the granted permissions and the device manufacturer’s background behavior. It is not a replacement for operating-system parental controls.
How do I open JW Library?
Use Open JW Library from a focus session. If it is installed, your device may ask you to confirm opening it. If it is missing, the app offers its store listing. On Apple devices, also select JW Library in Allowed apps so Screen Time does not shield it.
Make it yours
How do I change routine times and defaults?
Edit a routine to choose its time, duration, and repeat schedule. Open Settings → My routines & defaults to choose the starting durations for new routines. Your existing routines keep their own settings.
What is flexible scheduling?
A flexible routine can be moved using Move this moment. The app checks the selected replacement against the routine’s scheduling rules. A strict session cannot be ended early from the app. Choose the approach that fits you in Scheduling & flexibility.
How do custom reminders and calendars work?
In notification settings, choose a preset or enter a custom lead time in minutes or hours. Notifications require your device’s permission. When creating or editing a routine, choose its calendar option if you want to add it to a calendar; review and save the event in your device’s calendar editor. A calendar event is separate from the app’s blocking schedule.
How do I use Siri?
On Apple devices, open Settings → Siri & Shortcuts for the supported phrases and actions. Siri uses the same permissions and strictness rules as the app.
Optional contributions
How do I choose an amount?
Open Support Kingdom Focus in Settings. Select a suggested amount or Other, enter an amount in your store’s currency, then use the contribution button. Available amounts and the final price come from the App Store or Google Play. Some custom amounts are not offered by your store; the app suggests available amounts instead.
Each contribution is a one-time developer tip. It is optional, is not a subscription, and does not unlock app features. It is not a charitable donation or a contribution to Watch Tower.
I paid, but the thank-you badge has not appeared.
The app shows thanks after the store confirms a completed purchase. A pending or canceled purchase does not create a badge. Open the contribution page again with an internet connection. For a charge or refund question, use your App Store or Google Play purchase history. Contact us if a completed purchase still does not appear; do not send full card details.
Tell us what happened.
